Summary: Use NEPAWatch honestly — only report real power changes in Nigeria. Don't abuse the platform. The service is free and provided as-is. We can suspend accounts that misuse the system.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using NEPAWatch Nigeria ("NEPAWatch", "the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service. Use of the Service is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference.
2. Description of Service

The Service covers all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of Nigeria across all 11 electricity Distribution Companies (DISCOs).
3. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement.
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your account credentials secure and confidential.
- All activity that occurs under your account.
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.
One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions is prohibited.
4. User Conduct and Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service honestly and in good faith. The following are strictly prohibited:
- False reports — Submitting outage or restoration reports that you know to be inaccurate or fabricated.
- Spam — Submitting excessive or repetitive reports to manipulate the feed or statistics.
- Abuse — Harassing other users, the support team, or misusing the contact form.
- Scraping — Automated scraping, crawling, or bulk downloading of data from the Service without written permission.
- Interference — Attempting to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the Service's infrastructure.
- Circumvention — Attempting to bypass rate limits, access controls, or Row-Level Security policies.
- Impersonation — Pretending to be another person, NEPAWatch, or an official source.
We reserve the right to remove false reports, ban accounts, and report serious abuse to relevant authorities.
5. User-Generated Content
By submitting a report or any other content to NEPAWatch, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, and distribute that content as part of the Service.
You represent that your reports are truthful and based on your direct observation or reasonable knowledge of the power situation in your area.
Reports are visible to all users of the Service. Do not include personal information (phone numbers, addresses, etc.) in reports or location names.
6. Accuracy of Information
Important: NEPAWatch aggregates crowd-sourced reports and AI predictions. We do not have a direct data feed from NERC, EKEDC, IE, or any DISCO. Information on the platform is provided by users and is not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or current.
Do not rely solely on NEPAWatch for critical decisions (e.g., medical equipment, business continuity). Always verify important power information with your local DISCO.
7. Intellectual Property
The NEPAWatch name, logo, branding, design, AI prediction engine, and all original software code are the intellectual property of NEPAWatch Nigeria. You may not copy, reproduce, or commercialise any part of the Service without written permission.
The crowd-sourced report data is a collective community resource. You may not commercially resell or package this data.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- Reports, predictions, or alerts will be accurate or timely.
- The Service will be available at any particular time.
Use of the Service is entirely at your own risk.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, NEPAWatch and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claims arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the past 12 months (which, for free users, is zero).
10. Service Availability and Modifications
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
We will post the updated Terms on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
11. Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at nepawatchtechnologies@gmail.com.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms, submits false reports, or engages in any abusive or fraudulent behaviour — without prior notice and at our sole discretion.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nigeria.
